O2 Get The Message

O2 seem to have recently snuck in a new feature without fanfare which is the long awaited “Voicemail” message indicator. That option has been available on some other networks for 15 years I hear you say? Well even so it’s a welcome addition when the previous available options was only via text message or the even more annoying “automated ring back”.

O2 customers can activate this by dialling 901 and choosing mailbox options. It wouldn’t surprise me if new customers don’t default to this option in future.

Bioshock Infinite , Jumping The Sky Shark?

I loved Bioshock, a secret underwater city & a stylish alternate history, what’s not to like?

Following the two previous successful games “Bioshock Infinite” was announced last week & with the surprise that the game has left the previous ocean setting & now featured a floating sky city. While it’s perhaps unfair to judge games so far in advance I can’t help thinking that a floating city is a step too far & as Llando Calrisian would tell you normally come to no good.

While Bioshock & Bioshock 2 had an atmospheric undersea hidden city that could almost happen, the new mile high setting seems impossible before we even get started with genetic mutation & weapons.

As Sci Fi author Richard Dawkins once said that sci fi is about establishing new rules, change too many & you make things unbelievable lose the reader. Hopefully before the release some incredible story details will better explain so as not to detract from the no doubt killer gameplay.

Hold on tight though it’s a long way down.

O2,Goodbye Unlimited 3G

This week O2 followed their US counterparts AT&T by announcing that in the name of transparency they are to end unlimited downloads on new iPhone tariffs & introducing a limit of 500mb per month on most which can then be topped up with bolt on’s as required.

The Power Hungry Few

This might seem to be a harsh change to go from “unlimited” to such a low amount More »
